Victor Ceban

Victor Ceban is a drummer and one of the two founders of the band The Wax Road.

Victor was born in Ungheni, Moldova, on 28 May 1995.

The first one who made Victor love the drums is his father, also a drummer, and at the age of only 12, being inspired by the performance of Steve Gadd, Victor decided to go to music school. From the earliest days, his teacher Pavel Căpăţînă, that graduated the US Berklee College, teaches Victor the jazz rhythms.

In 2008, Victor started to play in a jazz orchestra of his school in Ungheni, performing together in Moldova, Romania and a series of concerts in Lithuania (2010). In the spring of 2013, Victor participates in the festival “Day Drum Ungheni” organized by the drummer Pezza. Besides the drum solo he played there, Victor performed ”Stairway to Heaven” together with Dan Timofei (now vocalist and guitarist in The Wax Road). After Ion Tiuticov (Guitar) and Cristi Budac (bass guitar) joined, they 4 formed The Wax Road band, already participating together in the following editions of Drum Day festival. The last festival took place in spring, 2015 in Hamburg.

Currently, the band is preparing to release the debut album. Victor, in parallel, launched a series of online drum lessons, with the aim of promoting art and music culture among local drummers. Lessons are unique not only because of their content and quality but also because they are in Romanian.
